A South Carolina family is desperate for answers after their 66-year-old father, recently diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, wandered off during a Royal Caribbean cruise with his wife.
Edmond Bradley Solomon III, who suffers from the degenerative disorder, was last seen Wednesday when the cruise ship he was on with his wife, Mimi, stopped in Cozumel, Mexico.
The couple went to the terminal bathroom after the ship, the Icon of the Seas, was docked, but their family has not seen or heard from Solomon since.
“When my stepmom, Mimi, came out, he wasn’t there,” said Solomon’s daughter, Savannah Miller. WCBD in an emotional interview.
“She thought he might still be in the bathroom, so she waited for him for a few minutes. He didn’t come out.

The only reported sighting of him came from a taxi driver who said he was called by the missing American on the road to Passion Island.
City officials say a taxi driver, responding to a tip about Solomon, said the missing American stopped him around 2:30 p.m., took him to a beach access road and Solomon paid him with a wristwatch because He said he had no money, according to Daily news from Mexico.
Before his disappearance, Solomon was wearing a white T-shirt, gray shorts, and dark sunglasses.
Miller told WCBD that his disorder, which is behavioral and does not affect his memory, causes him to say “strange things” and behave “erratically, or in a strange way, because he’s just doing what he knows how to do.”
“He can’t process it the same way you or I can,” Miller added of his father, a former critical care nurse at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston.
Solomon and his wife went to the terminal bathroom after the ship was docked, but his family has not seen or heard from him since, including his daughter Savannah, who is helping raise the alarm.
