According to TMZ, the tragedy occurred while Waldo was walking with their dog walker, when he broke free from his lead after being shocked by a pedestrian.
The dog was subsequently hit by a car and died later, but Sophie and Joe don't blame their dog walker for the tragedy.
But the couple reported the incident to the police on Friday and told the authorities that this was the case late in submitting the report because the emotional stress of Waldo & # 39; s death gave rise to an emergency trip to the therapist.
Sophie and Joe originally adopted Waldo in April 2018 and still have their surviving dog Porky from the same litter.
Joe originally bought Porky as a surprise for Sophie and the couple later adopted Waldo when they wanted to add to their bread.
Although devastated by the loss, the DNCE singer did not let the tragic accident prevent him from doing his daily business.
Joe was walked through their NYC neighborhood on Thursday after the Porky incident.
