Sophie Guidolin denies trying to pass off Coachella holiday as a branded trip and tax write-off

Date:

Controversial fitness influencer Sophie Guidolin has denied passing off her recent vacation in the US to attend the Coachella music festival as a “branded trip.”

The 34-year-old mother of three caused confusion last Friday after she uploaded a video to Instagram titled “Campaign Shoot,” along with footage from her trip from Brisbane to California ahead of the popular desert festival.

The term ‘campaign’ refers to a branded fashion photo shoot.

“Can’t wait to show you guys,” Sophie teased in the caption, opting not to reveal the fashion label behind the alleged campaign.

Days later, Sophie finally uploaded a post suggesting the official “campaign” was for Coco Harper, a Gold Coast Activewear brand she often promotes on Instagram.

Days later, Sophie uploaded a post suggesting the official “campaign” was for Coco Harper, a Gold Coast activewear brand she often promotes on Instagram. In a bizarre twist, Cleo Harper has since denied that Sophie’s vacation was a brand trip organized by the brand

The image showed Sophie and two friends posing in front of Coachella’s iconic ferris wheel wearing outfits from the brand’s new Prism collection.

“@Cleo_Harper X @Coachella PRISM collection coming soon,” she captioned the image.

In a bizarre twist, Cleo Harper has since denied that Sophie’s vacation was a brand trip organized by the label.

On Tuesday Instagram watchdog account Influencer Tea Aus published a private message from the brand confirming that Sophie’s Ferris wheel photo “isn’t a Cleo Harper shoot.”

“We did our two campaign shoots in our Cleo Boutique and on the beach in the GC (Gold Coast”) as featured in the Prism lookbook and on our website,” the brand spokesperson wrote.

“We only control the campaigns and content we create and what we share,” they wrote.

Sophie has since removed the Ferris wheel photo from her Instagram feed.

When Daily Mail Australia contacted a staff member who works with Sophie and attended the festival with her, they insisted that the campaign shoot they did at Coachella was for Sophie’s fitness app “The Bod” and that the trip was not a tax write-off.

“Nothing about tax deductions and everyone paid their own way there,” she said.

It comes after a rough few months for Sophie, who announced in late January that her fifth child, a girl named Pixie, was stillborn.

“I can’t put my pain, sadness and despair into words with all my soul,” she wrote in an emotional Instagram post, revealing she’d had a C-section.

Sophie, who has four children from a previous relationship, was expecting Pixie with her now-estranged dentist husband Dr. Andrew Firagaira.

In March, the couple announced they had split after just four months of marriage.

In an Instagram post on March 15, he said he is “unwilling” to discuss the reasons for the split, which came just weeks after Sophie gave birth to a stillborn baby while on vacation in Europe.
