As the festive season approaches, retailers across the UK are starting to roll out their Christmas adverts, filling the country’s screens with festivities.
Several British supermarkets have already kicked off the festive season, with companies including Lidl, Asda, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s launching their annual Christmas adverts.
Joining them for an early festive launch is British retailer Freemans, who have enlisted the help of hitmaker Sophie Ellis-Bextor to be the face of this year’s Christmas campaign.
The 30-second campaign features the Murder On The Dancefloor singer handing out a host of glamorous gifts.
Alongside the ‘Style Squad’, the advert sees Sophie knocking on doors along snowy Sleigh Street, while handing out festive treasures.

The perfect seasonal music for the 30-second clip is Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s song ‘Freedom of the Night’, which the star recently performed on results show Strictly.
At the beginning of the ad, Sophie arrives in a retro delivery van, accompanied by a team of five, also decked out in cozy festive coats.
The sentiment is echoed by Freeman’s own delivery services across the country.
Upon ringing the first bell, a woman in a leopard print answers. She seems confused at first, but then smiles when Sophie and the Style Squad hand her a gorgeous leopard-print bag.

The campaign highlights a range of spectacular products available on the retailer’s website, including a stylish leopard print tote bag and an age-defying LED face mask.
Also featured in the festive campaign is a pair of children’s Adidas trainers, which are given to a delighted resident of Sleigh Street.
The online retailer, which is now exclusively online, has over 60,000 products and delivers across the UK.

The announcement was officially posted on Freeman’s social channel on October 24 and then appeared on television screens two days later.
While some might consider October too early for the festive season, the brand revealed that there was a reason behind its early booking campaign.
The retailer explained that they chose to launch their Christmas campaign early following research that revealed that 36 percent of consumers start the big purchase in October.
The research also found that another 23 per cent start Christmas shopping in early November.
Richard Cristofoli, customer director at Freemans, said: “Tis the season to start Christmas shopping. The two-month countdown to Christmas has already begun and most consumers are starting early to spread the cost of shopping. festive season.
“Launching now, we have two paydays left until the big day and are offering more help and advice than ever through our Style Squad, making it easier for customers to find the perfect gift and manage their holiday finances.”
