The Duchess of Edinburgh appeared in high spirits when she visited Highfield Farm in Bedford today.

Their visit is part of the ‘Field to Bowl’ initiative, which showcases the work of the LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) charity in the context of breakfast cereals.

The royal, who is a long-time supporter of farming and has served as a patron of the Association of Agricultural and Entertainment Organizations since 2012, visited Highfield Farm to tour the production facilities for breakfast cereal brand Jordans.

Breakfast cereal supplier Jordans works with The Wildlife Trusts as part of a collaboration between Oat Farms, the LEAF charity and The Princes Countryside Fund.
“This ensures that not only are our oats grown sustainably, but wildlife are also benefited,” according to the brand.
It comes after the Duchess of Edinburgh came face to face with knitted versions of her and her husband during an appearance at the Royal Windsor Flower Show earlier this month, where she also met Dame Mary Berry and veteran gardener Alan Titchmarsh .

Residents of Brinsworth House in Twickenham created the artwork, which was displayed at the York Club in Windsor Great Park.

She was seen examining plants and holding one up for the veteran gardener to smell at one point.
