Burns survivor Sophie Delezio is pregnant with her first child.
She shared the wonderful news on social media on Wednesday.
‘The greatest gift of all is coming in September!’ he revealed on his Instagram page along with a baby face and heart emoji.
The photos show the newlywed lovebirds smiling together on a beach and gently holding Ms. Delezio’s baby bump.
Another shows an ultrasound image of the baby on a smartphone.
The Australian legend’s Instagram followers were delighted with the news.
“The most surprising news,” said one.
“Congratulations to both of you, it makes me very happy to see that great joy comes into your lives after everything you have been through.”
Ms. Delezio first entered the public consciousness as a young child when she was the victim of a horrific car accident that left her with burns over 85 percent of her body.
In 2003, a car crashed through the window of a Sydney nursery school and little Sophie was trapped under the burning car.
Then, in 2006, she was tragically hit again by a car near her home.
He suffered a brain injury and a heart attack in the accident.
His remarkable story of survival gave him a special place in the hearts of many Australians.
In 2023, she became engaged to her childhood friend Joseph.
