Sony has canceled an unannounced fantasy FPS shooter project.. | -WhatsNew2Day

Date:

A source claimed that Sony had canceled an unannounced sci-fi shooter project developed by the Final Strike Games team, which had been in development for three years.

The allegations come from a Twitter user named bogorad222, which in turn provided Insider Gaming with evidence of the allegations from a former developer at the studio who had stipulated that they remain anonymous. Unfortunately, there is no likely reason why Sony canceled this project.

It was also said that the game was two years away from its release with the intention of releasing it on PlayStation 5 and PC. According to the screenshots provided, Final Strike Games studio has seen a 40% reduction in staff due to the canceled project.

It is noteworthy that the Final Strike Games team was founded for the first time in 2016 and released the game Rocket Arena, which was then published by Electronic Arts.

In June 2021, developers began supporting live services at Epic Games similar to Fortnite. According to the company’s website at the moment, the developers are working on an unannounced AAA shooter for PC and home platforms, but it’s not clear if this is the same project that has been canceled or not.

Sony is said to have many projects at its studios ready to go live, as we talked about here. This also leads us to the possibility of announcing the rumored PlayStation Showcase event coming at the end of this month.
