Sonos launches a trade-in program for its oldest products

Sonos lets people who own the oldest products trade them in for a more modern replacement. The new program offers a 30 percent discount to those who want to trade in their Connect, Connect: Amp, ZP80, ZP90, ZP100, ZP120 or the Play-5 of the first generation for something new. Unfortunately, the Play: 1 is not part of the list, because it was for sale relatively recently, even after it was succeeded by the Sonos One and One SL.

If you have more than one of the eligible products, you will receive a 30 percent discount for every product you trade in. You can register for the program on the Sonos website where the company will also help customers find ways to recycle their old hardware responsibly.

The program comes when Sonos faces increasing competition from Amazon, which is about to release its Echo Studio speaker with premium audio quality. Bose also keeps coming after Sonos with similar products such as the Portable Home Speaker, which is very similar to the recent Sonos Move.
