Hundreds of people have heard a loud explosion, believed to be a sonic boom in central England.
The ground reportedly shook and homes were rocked as far south as Oxford and 70 miles north of Leicester around 12:15 today.
Plane spotters on social media suggested it may have been a fighter jet responding to an air ambulance distress call calling for a medical evacuation.
