Sunrise reporter Sonia Kruger reveals Hugh Grant was the worst celebrity she’s ever met – after controversial Ashley Graham shutdown
She has spoken to hundreds of celebrities during her 30-year television career.
But Sonia Kruger revealed that the worst character she’d ever played was Hugh Grant.
in a column Stellar MagazineThe 57-year-old explained that she had a conversation with the English actor in 2004 after his role in Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason.
“I was excited to meet one of my favorite actors,” she began, “so I arrived with bright eyes and a bushy tail — unlike Hugh, who wasn’t playful at all.”
Sonia said that she did not let Hugh’s mood “deter me” and continued the interview by acknowledging his recent birthday but that she had “only scorn and suspicion”.

During the interview, Sonia reveals that she decided to stop and ask Hugh if he was okay.
In response, he said he wanted to know why I wanted to know. So I replied, “Because you don’t look very happy.”
She explained, ‘He seemed to be shocked that I called him out about his behaviour, and from that moment on, Hugh was a completely different man.

It comes after Hugh locked eyes with Ashley Graham and rolled his eyes at her in a red carpet conversation that was described as the “worst interview ever” at last month’s star-studded Academy Awards.
The actor wasn’t amused when he stepped out to the glitzy Los Angeles event, publicly showing his disdain for the 34-year-old model’s questions.
The Four Weddings and Funeral star kept his answers to her questions as short as possible and made his blatant disinterest well known.

At the start of the conversation, Bubbly Ashley exclaimed, “How did it feel to be in Glass Onion?” How fun would it be to shoot something like that? “
But she was met with a sloppy response: “Well, I’m barely in it, I was in it for about three seconds,” Hugh quipped.
“It must have been fun though, you had fun, right?” Ashley said as she worked through the one sided chat.
“Erm…almost,” the actor replied, looking away.
With a wide smile and bearing the interview, the model asked: “What are you wearing?” While Hugh offered insight: “My Suit”.
