Sol Campbell is no longer in the running for the vacant track for the England Under-21.
Sportsmail revealed this month that the former Arsenal defender, an English defender, had held talks about replacing Aidy Boothroyd after being asked to apply for the role.
But Campbell has not yet made it to the final stage of the application process.

Justin Cochrane, the current England U17 head coach, Ian Foster, the current U19 head coach, Liam Rosenior, Steve Cooper, Mark Warburton and Paul Simpson all believed they were contenders.
Boothroyd was told his FA contract would not be renewed after England’s disappointing campaign at the recent European Under-21 Championship.
