The sudden death of the son of a Sydney eastern suburbs socialite remains shrouded in mystery after he was discovered face down in a Balinese pool.

Aston Looker An 18-year-old model from Sydney was found dead in the pool on August 22, and police launched an investigation when they were alerted to the death.

His distraught mother, interior designer Amanda Lennon, told friends she only found out about her son’s death (and his funeral) through a text message from her ex-husband, Saxon Looker.

“His ex cremated him before arriving in Bali,” said a friend.

“He got a text from Saxon saying, ‘Aston cremated.'”

Close friends said Lennon, also a former model, is distraught over the loss of her eldest son, but emerged last week to join Sydney’s elite for a glamorous lunch.

“As you can imagine, he is beside himself with pain,” a friend said. “There is still a deep mystery surrounding her death that she is still dealing with.”

Saxon Looker, her entrepreneur ex-husband, runs several surfboard businesses in Bali, where he has lived since 2005.

It is not suggested that Saxon Looker had any involvement in his son’s death.

Aston was a former student of St Josephs College in Hunters Hill, on Sydney’s north shore, and was remembered at a memorial service in the school chapel on September 6.

Lennon has posted a series of touching tributes on social media. He recently spoke about his profound loss.

“My supermodel son is in heaven,” she wrote. ‘We love you forever. We love your sassy personality and incredible looks, but most of all your humor.

“Your mother will never forget you, my favorite person in the universe.”

He added: “Aston, you are gone too soon and you will regret your death, which was too soon.”

She runs an exclusive eastern suburbs clique, including Real Housewives of Sydney star Victoria Montano, Kate Champion, the wife of the co-founder of Laser Clinics Australia, and Linda Rogan, who made headlines this year for her romance with WiseTech billionaire Richard White.

She was spotted at last Thursday’s A-List lunch hosted by White’s newlywed wife Zena Nasser at Mimi’s restaurant at Coogee Pavilion in the eastern suburbs.

Reality TV star Victoria Montano paid tribute to her godson in a heartfelt social media post after his funeral.

“Today we celebrate the life of Aston Looker. People with fragile hearts are the bravest and most beautiful miracles. Aston was my friend along with his wonderful mother,” his publication began.

It was his vulnerability that attracted you. His sensitivity. His creative mind, which undoubtedly worked all day at a million miles per hour. He wore his heart on his sleeve.

She added: “On the occasions when we had time for a deeper conversation, I always noticed that he was able to express himself like no other man I knew.

‘Asty: a life taken too soon. A wasted life of a wonderful young man. We will all miss you. I love you so much Asty Mou – Vic.’

Bali police told Daily Mail Australia that Aston’s parents had not alerted them to the tragic death.

“We have not received any report in this regard,” said police spokesman Jansen Avitus Panjaitan. ‘The victim’s family did not file any complaint with the police.

‘The incident was later discovered by Mengwi police. They launched an immediate investigation.

“Based on the results of the investigation that had been conducted, detectives concluded that no criminal act was involved in Aston’s death.”
