TV viewers watching King Charles’s Coronation concert tonight blasted the “awful” sound system and quality of the music on social media when they tuned in at home.
The King and Queen were joined by 20,000 royal fans in the grounds of Windsor Castle as they watched the likes of Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Olly Murs as part of the magnificent display.
The newly crowned monarchs, along with other senior members of the royal family, were seen beaming as they watched the performances of the celebrated musicians.
But those watching the much-anticipated pop show at home soon flocked to social media to offer scathing reviews of the concert’s sound quality.
“This is a concert on a cruise ship. It is absolutely shocking,” one wrote.
Another added: “The sound from the main mic is terrible for anyone using it.”
When 20,000 royal fans joined King Charles and Queen Camilla (pictured in royal box) for tonight’s anticipated Coronation concert, it didn’t take long for home viewers to rate the performance

TV viewers watching King Charles’s coronation concert tonight have blasted the ‘horrible’ sound system and quality of music on social media
The King and Queen, who were crowned at Westminster Abbey yesterday, sat alongside Prince George, Princess Charlotte and the Prince and Princess of Wales in the royal box, but it was past bedtime for Prince Louis, five, who stayed home.
The royals put on their glow stick wristbands and got up to dance as Lionel performed All Night Long.
Charles and Camilla were seen laughing and chatting as they swayed along to the music, which included Katy Perry’s performance of Roar and Firework, while the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh also got into the festive spirit.
While the audience didn’t seem to be bothered by sound issues, those on social media blamed a faulty microphone for making some performances sound “terrible.”
Some wondered if there was a ‘problem’ with the sound systems affecting the quality for home viewers.
However, other eagle-eyed viewers took to social media to joke about what they had seen at the concert.
When newly crowned Queen Camilla dove into her bag after DJ Pete Tong kickstarted the proceedings, it didn’t take long for the internet to come up with the best theories for what she was after.
“I really thought Camilla was knitting,” one person joked.
While another user, who also saw the Queen rummaging in her bag, added, “Camilla loves a free goodie bag as much as the rest of us!”

Some social media users made an effort at what they thought Camilla was searching her bag
A third quipped, “What’s Camilla getting out of her Mary Poppins bag,” and a fourth urgently tweeted, “THIS IS NOT A DRILL. CAMILLA HAS HAD HER KNITTING.’
While viewers at home tried to guess what was in Her Majesty’s bag, another quipped, “Nice to see Camilla get the Minstrels out of her bag.”
Others at home noted more notable moments from the concert, with some convinced they’d seen another Ed Balls lookalike – just a day after royal fans compared the former Shadow Chancellor to Welsh opera singer Sir Bryn Terfel who sang at the coronation of the king.
Tonight, royal fans were convinced that Mr Balls was part of the 300 strong choir that had been brought together to perform for the king tonight.
During their performance of Brighter Days by Emeli Sande, a user who posted a photo of the choir member quipped, “There are a lot of Ed Balls lookalikes at this coronation!”
Those who were unable to attend in person entertained social media users at home with their statements.
One user quipped, “These dancing beefeater outfits are hideous.”

Royal fans back home were convinced they’d found another Ed Balls lookalike in the Coronation Choir

Prince Louis, who stole the show at the coronation yesterday, was not at the concert tonight, leaving royal fans devastated
Social media was also dominated by Prince Louis – who once again warmed the hearts of the country at the coronation – after it emerged that he was not in attendance with his two older siblings.
One person said, ‘Where’s Prince Louis!?! He’s the funniest of them all!’
Another joked, “Louis isn’t there to cancel the concert.” A third said, “Where’s Prince Louis?! I wanted the entertainment ffs.’
A fourth came to his own conclusion, tweeting, “Prince Louis isn’t here because he’s a little devil and not because it’s past his bedtime. I mean it’s a one time thing, I’m sure he can stay up…”
