NRL star Taylan May will face court after being arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning over an alleged domestic violence incident that allegedly took place in April.
NSW Police confirmed around 5am on Saturday that a man, aged 22, was arrested at an address in Penrith in relation to an alleged domestic violence incident that occurred last month.
“Police were informed at around 9pm on Monday, April 8, 2024, that the man allegedly assaulted a woman he knew during an argument at a home in Werrington,” a statement read.
“It is alleged that he punched him in the face and leg.
“The man was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), and two counts of stalking/intimidating with intent to fear bodily harm etc. (DV).”

May also recently attracted attention after her neck tattoo of her last name (pictured).
May was granted conditional bail and will appear at Penrith Local Court on May 28.
May, 21, signed a contract extension in March earlier this year, committing to Penrith until at least the end of 2026.
He will not appear this weekend in Brisbane during the Magic Round.
The Panthers issued a statement Saturday when news of May’s arrest became public.
‘The Penrith Panthers are aware of an alleged incident involving player Taylan May, which has resulted in police charges.
‘Panthers have informed the NRL Integrity Unit and will co-operate throughout the process.
“As this is a legal matter, the club will not be making any further comment at this time.”
Earlier this month, May revealed why she has the word “pain” tattooed under her right eye.
“It’s basically a message for everything I’ve been through,” May told the Sydney Morning Herald.
May also provided a major talking point with football fans in March following this hit on Broncos fullback Reece Walsh (pictured).
May attracted headlines earlier this year after posting a video on social media that appears to show him in a car going almost twice the speed limit in a residential area of Sydney.
He also weighed in publicly on the drama involving rugby league commentator Paul Kent outside a Rozelle pub.
‘Growing up, the trauma… I was on the housing commission my whole life, except last year when my parents bought a house. “It was a tough education.”
May also explained why she got her last name tattooed on her neck.
“I received this during our week off a few weeks ago,” he said. ‘I have friend rates. I don’t like to fit into society’s agenda. I like to be different. That is the reason behind this.
‘I have no excuses. I am what I am.’

A link to Sydney-based car rental company Ruthless Rentals was added to the video, with distinctive tattoos on the driver’s left arm proving May is not behind the wheel.
May and Ruthless Rentals’ Instagram accounts were subsequently deleted, with the NRL and Penrith Integrity Unit following up.
“I’ve put myself in other people’s shoes,” May said of the incident. “I was in the car, but I wasn’t driving; I can’t say who was driving.
‘I didn’t think there was (much), but that’s the world we live in. We’re high-profile (NRL players), so any little thing (becomes a story). I heard they were under investigation, but I didn’t read much about it.
‘I’m back on social media now. I needed a reboot. I’ll do it here and there. I’ll probably do it again. I don’t like to see all the negative things. I know that’s what comes with it.
