- Both Republicans and Democrats will have “similar coverage against snipers”
Secret Service snipers were seen guarding Kamala Harris and Tim Walz at their rally in Wisconsin, in what was the first major outdoor presidential campaign rally since a gunman opened fire on Donald Trump.
The vice president and her running mate appeared before a crowd of 12,000 people less than a month after Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
Last week, Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe confirmed that all political candidates will receive similar “anti-sniper coverage” in the future.
He also revealed that “we are going to put all the resources at our disposal to face any challenge we may have.”
This comes after the CEO of a social media website revealed shocking social media posts about Trump shooter Thomas Crooks.

Secret Service officials will now provide similar counter-coverage to all political candidates going forward.
According to Rowe, Trump’s Pennsylvania rally was the first time a Secret Service sniper was assigned to one of his events.
However, other law enforcement agencies have provided similar coverage at other campaign events.
The 20-year-old gunman, who struck Trump’s right ear and killed a rally-goer, was killed by a single fatal shot from the sniper after firing eight rounds from an AR-15 rifle.
Despite being urged to stop holding outdoor rallies, Trump reiterated that he will continue to do so on July 27.
Rowe agreed, saying: “It’s up to us to decide what we need to do to mitigate that.” Independent reports.
Earlier this week, Walz emerged as Harris’s choice for vice president after a closely-watched election in the two weeks after he took over Biden’s campaign.
The 60-year-old father of two, who has been married to his teacher wife Gwen since 1994, joins the ticket in a victory for the party’s far left who were concerned about some of the other contenders’ support for Israel.
Former President Donald Trump raised his fist moments after being injured in a shooting at a Pennsylvania rally on July 13.
Harris announced Minnesota Gov. Walz, 60, (left), as her running mate earlier this week.
Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe confirmed that “we are going to put all the resources at our disposal to address any challenges we have.”
In Minnesota, Walz codified abortion rights, signed universal free school meals, legalized recreational marijuana and gave voting rights to former prisoners.
The former professor is also credited with being the Democrat who started calling Republicans “weird,” a fad that has dominated the campaign since Joe Biden dropped out of the race last month.
Walz has made the North Star State a haven for LGBTQ Americans and also supported making Minnesota a 13th “sanctuary” state for undocumented immigrants.
Republicans who feared Shapiro’s popularity celebrated Walz’s announcement and criticized his “woke” policies, while Donald Trump’s campaign called the governor a “dangerous West Coast wannabe.”
