Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan is embracing his port-wine-colored birthmark and learning to be comfortable in his own skin.
On Monday, the singer-songwriter, 57, took to Instagram to share a photo of himself showing off his birthmark, which he said he has tried to “hide” for “his entire life.”
His post comes less than a week after he and his wife Chloé Mendel, 31, announced they are expecting their third child together.
After sharing his exciting news, he wrote a sweet post alongside a photo of himself with one of his sleeves rolled up and his arm raised to confidently show off the birthmark on his hand and forearm.
The musician, who said he speaks openly about childhood trauma with his young children, shared several slides emphasizing the poignant words he wrote in his lengthy caption.

“I’m a huge fan of body positivity movements because at the end of the day it’s about celebrating what makes us ‘us,'” she began.
She then shared a photo of Carlotta Bertotti, a 23-year-old model and influencer from Turin.
“As you can see, here we have a beautiful young woman with a birthmark who has embraced her ‘difference’ with grace,” she wrote.
He later admitted that he always tried to ‘hide’ his birthmark because he was mercilessly teased when he was very young.
“What I mean is that I’ve tried my best to hide my port-wine-colored birthmarks all my life because, as you can imagine, I was teased mercilessly for it as a child,” he shared. “So much so that people who’ve known me for a decade are shocked when they finally ‘see’ them.”
“And even today, strangers stop me on the street, not because they recognize me, but because they think something is wrong with me and I need medical attention,” he added.
She also highlighted the type of comments she receives every day and ended her post on a positive note with a loving message for her fans.

And just last week, he and his wife shared an exciting announcement about their soon-to-be family of five.
Just before the couple’s first wedding anniversary, the couple shared the news that they are expanding their family in an interview with PEOPLEwhich was published last Wednesday.
“We are thrilled to announce that our family is growing. It’s an exciting time for us, albeit unexpected,” his wife shared with the outlet.
The parents-to-be also share a daughter, Philomena, five, and a son, Augustus, eight.
“On Sunday, we shared the news with our children, Augustus Juppiter and Philomena Clementine. While Augustus was overjoyed, Clementine, the youngest of the two, asked if the baby was done yet and shed a few worried tears, which was honestly adorable,” Corgan shared.
“Now, both children are radiant and it is so much fun to share the joy of bringing more love to our family. We are truly blessed.”
