  • Twilight goggles can be adjusted via app or with a discreet button on the temple
  • The glasses can shift from a 35 percent tint on a cloudy day to a 3 percent tint for the sunniest days
  • The deluxe model has built-in speakers and can play tunes or take calls
  • The specs have a seven-day charge as shades or four hours of speaker playback

A smart start-up promotes smart sunglasses that darken at the click of a button.

The hue on Ampere’s Dusk displays can be adjusted via a mobile app or with a discreet button on the temple.

An advanced model of the glasses has built-in speakers and microphone and can play tunes or take calls.

With nearly 700 backers, Ampere has already collected $184,325 on IndieGogo, more than 1000 percent of its $15,000 goal.

Most temporary sunglasses rely on photochromic lenses, which automatically adjust tint in response to brighter light.

Ampere’s sunglasses are made with electrochromic lenses, which darken in response to an electronic signal, giving the user more precise control.

The polarized lenses reportedly block 100 percent of UVA/UVB rays and can shift from a light shade of 35 percent on a cloudy day to a darkest shade of 3 percent on the sunniest days.

The technology is becoming an increasingly popular option for car windows and even building structures.

Dusk’s simple blacks resemble Ray-Ban Wayfarers, popular in Risky Business, and weigh just an ounce.

To adjust the tooth, the wearer can press a button on the temple which goes through three stages.

For more precision, there’s a Dusk app (not yet live) that can even save your favorite settings.

Either way, the change happens in less than a second.

You can also set the glasses to change tint automatically based on the ambient light.

Customizable sunglasses may be enough for a draw, but Ampere also offers a pimped-up deluxe model with an open-ear audio system that promises users to listen to music without bothering others.

With an integrated microphone, wearers can also make calls or give commands to Siri.

Ampere claims the Dusk has seven days of power if you use them only as sunglasses, or four hours of continuous speaker play.
