A smart woman has transformed her old boring drawer set into a modern piece of furniture after using budget items.
The interior lover, originally from New Zealand but now living in New South Wales, said she revived the vintage treasure by using an electric sander to strip back the wood directly.
During the design process, she decided to keep the original wooden frame, but gave a lick of black paint before painting the clear wood lacquer.
Once the paint is dry, it is attached the six round buttons she bought from Bunnings Warehouse and added the legs to ‘give it some height’.

“I got these bedroom drawers, needed a new look, a quick trip to Bunnings for some knobs, marketplace legs, and a new sander,” she said in a Facebook group.
“I added some brushed nickel legs to give it some height and matching buttons. The pull fronts have been refurbished in “carbon black” lacquer from Fusion. Once I sanded the old disappearance, the pine was underneath. I also kept the center section in natural wood to balance the look. ‘
She also applied a blank wood to the piece to improve the durability and gloss retention of the interior and exterior wood finishes.
After sharing her ‘before’ and ‘after’ transformation on social media, thousands were amazed to see the results.
