Defending Australian Open champions Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner returned to Melbourne Park this week in a quest to defend their Grand Slam titles.
Both are big favorites to win their titles again, and world number one Sabalenka is in excellent form heading into the next fortnight, having won at the Brisbane International last week.
Before that, Sabalenka had also won at the Wuhan Open in October and captured her first US Open title in September.
Meanwhile, Sinner, 23, was victorious at the ATP Nitto Finals in November and also experienced glory at the US Open, winning the men’s singles title.
Interestingly, Sabalenka and Sinner have won 18 titles on their respective tours and both have exceeded $60 million in professional earnings.
And they can attribute much of that wealth to their Grand Slam efforts, with the pair pocketing $3.5 million at last year’s Australian Open.
Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner appeared in Melbourne Park wearing two very glamorous watches.
The players had arrived for the main draw, but while there was much focus on who would play who, some eagle-eyed members of the crowd noticed their shiny watches.
Both luxury watches have a combined approximate price of $303,857.
But it seems like they’ve both been splurging, and each appeared to have bought their own luxury watch.
Sabalenka and Sinner appeared in the main draw of the Australian Open on Thursday to talk to reporters and some fans about the upcoming tournament.
While they both wore sporty hoodies to the event, it was the shiny object on their wrists that most paid attention to.
Upon further inspection, Daily Mail Australia understands that Sabalenka had been wearing an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore automatic chronograph watch.
The watch, which features a gold case, also comes with a bezel fitted with a variety of colored gems arranged in a rainbow pattern.
Similar items are for sale at chrono24 for the incredible sum of $233,266.
Meanwhile, Sinner was also sporting a stunning Rolex Daytona watch that can cost up to $70,591, based on prices listed on chrono24.
The watch comes with a gold case and a black bezel. The watch face features the iconic Rolex logo as well as three different watch faces.
Sinner will have a tough start to his Australian Open defense, with the world No. 1 facing world No. 34 Nicolas Jarry.
Sabalenka and Sinner showed off their watches as they spoke during the draw reveal at Melbourne Park.
The Belarusian faces a tough draw against former Grand Slam winner Sloane Stephens
Meanwhile, Sinner will face world number 34 Nicolas Jarry, who enjoyed an excellent 2024.
The 29-year-old Chilean has won three ATP Tour titles so far during his career and came close to claiming a fourth at the ATP Masters in Rome in May last year, being defeated in the final by Alexander Zverev.
If he advances beyond the third round, there is a chance he could face Cameron Norrie, Matteo Berrettini or Hubert Hurkacz in the fourth round.
In the women’s singles, Sabalenka faces American star Sloane Stephens in the first round.
The 31-year-old former major champion is ranked 84th on the WTA Tour and won her first WTA Tour title in two years in April in Rouen.
If Sabalenka defeats Stephens, she could face fifth-ranked Zheng Qinwen in the quarterfinals.
A victory there could pit her partner against Coco Gauff in what would be one of the most anticipated matches of the fortnight.
