  • This includes mild wrinkles in women and eye bags and dry skin in men.

We are all periodically reminded that we should sleep at least seven hours each night.

But whether it’s from being awake from stress or because children are keeping them awake, in reality many Britons earn much less than this.

Now, experts have warned that your face could be paying the price.

From dark circles to extra wrinkles, the images can serve as a reminder of the importance of getting a good night’s sleep.

To create the images, Simba first surveyed 2,000 Britons about their sleeping patterns, as well as the aesthetic conditions of their face.

The results revealed that more than half of Britons sleep less than the recommended seven hours a night, with those over 55 suffering the most.

In terms of impacts on the face, the women surveyed said they noticed mild wrinkles, fine lines and sagging skin, as well as looking stressed and tired.

The men surveyed, on the other hand, reported eye bags, dry skin, and looking tired when they didn’t get enough sleep.

Age appears to play an important role in these effects.

While 12 percent of all sleep-deprived participants reported having dry skin, this figure rose to 20 percent in 18- to 24-year-olds.

What’s more, almost a third of this age group experienced eye bags after a bad night’s sleep, compared to the average figure of 20 percent.

For older participants, dark circles were found to be the main side effect of lack of sleep.

Based on these findings, the researchers used AI to imagine what men and women of different ages would look like if they had a repeated unsatisfactory dream.

“Not getting enough sleep, especially for a long period of time, can damage both the mind and body, and even affect the skin, whatever your age,” said Lisa Artis, deputy chief executive of The Sleep Charity, Simba’s charity partner. .

“While genetics influence our appearance as we age, insufficient sleep can make the situation even worse.”
