Police in Maryland have released a sketch of Rachel Morin’s alleged killer six months after she was brutally murdered, as her mother appeals to the public for help.
Morin had gone for a walk on the Ma and Pa hiking trail in Bel Air, about 45 miles north of Baltimore, on August 5 around 6 p.m., but did not return home that night.
The next day, the body of the 37-year-old mother of five was discovered on the popular trail naked and beaten in a tunnel along the route.
Six months later, Harford police released a sketch of his alleged killer and encouraged the public to take a closer look.
In an emotional interview, Morin’s mother has pleaded with locals to think about August to finally help solve the mystery of her daughter’s death.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office released the sketch Monday and encourages the public to look closely and provide any relevant information.
In an emotional interview, Morin’s mother pleaded with locals to think back to August to help finally solve the mystery of her daughter’s death.
speaking to 11 newsPatty Morin said, “I can’t live with pain for the rest of my life, I can’t do that.” There has to be something to help us move forward.’
‘We really need to find this guy. I’m so tired of crying. I’m so tired of feeling sad, and I’m so tired.
‘We need to find this person. We need to be able to have some type of resolution in order to have some type of healing process.
“He’s just going to continue to do it because he thinks he can get away with it, and someone else will feel this pain that we feel and it shouldn’t be that way.”
‘Catching this person won’t make my pain go away. That won’t make my grief go away. I have lost my daughter. I can’t bring her back.
‘No one can bring her back. But it will keep him from hurting anyone else.
Detectives believe Morin’s killer may have been in the area in the days before her murder and witnesses reported seeing a man near the trail where she was running.
Harford County Sheriff’s Capt. Andrew Lane said, “I would say (he was seen during the) last two weeks of July, into August, in and around that area.”
Lane added: “That leads us to believe that he was here at least some time before, and that may help the public identify this person.”
“Most people who use that trail frequently don’t even know they’re there, they’re well hidden, so obviously, he knew the culvert was there and he most likely knew it was hidden from the trail.”
A source close to the family told DailyMail.com in mid-August that the young mother had suffered severe head trauma.

The suspect in Morin’s murder has been linked by DNA to a home invasion and assault in Los Angeles in March of this year.
The investigation has taken police to seven different states and involved 10 federal, state and local agencies.
DNA from the crime scene linked Rachel’s killer to a suspect in an assault and home invasion in Los Angeles on March 26.
Door camera footage shows the man leaving the California property after the crime.
Morin’s loved ones have turned still images from the footage into posters and posted them in Los Angeles schools.
“He could have been in high school just two years ago,” Morin family attorney Randolph Rice told CBS News.
“So if there’s a teacher there who taught him and saw him every day during the school year, hopefully that teacher will recognize who he is.”
Earlier this month they also sent 10,000 flyers to homes near the crime scene in Los Angeles to help provide potential identity clues to police.
“Remember, the story hasn’t really been covered in Los Angeles as well as it is here in Baltimore and Maryland,” Rice said.

In August, Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler warned that the suspect could be a serial killer who could be preparing to strike again.
Gahler said: ‘All serial killers start somewhere. I think what he did in Los Angeles was certainly in that direction.
‘I believe it was his intention to inflict more serious physical harm. We still don’t know who he is.
“He could still be resting here in our county, or he could have fled to any part of the country or even the world.”
Morin had originally been reported missing by her boyfriend Richard Tobin, who also found her car at the trailhead.
Rachel Morin and Richard Tobin started dating “a few weeks ago.” She was found murdered on a hiking trail on Sunday. The couple is shown during a previous walk together.
Tobin declared his innocence on Facebook and said he wouldn’t do anything to harm Rachel.
The couple had made their relationship official on social media four days before she was murdered.
Tobin had to take to social media to insist he had nothing to do with her disappearance after speculation emerged online.
He posted: ‘I love Rachel. She would never do anything to him, she would let the family and I suffer.
‘Yes, I have a past but I also have 15 clean months and I have changed as a person. Please.’
Tobin has been arrested 14 times since 2014 on various charges including drug trafficking, assault, disorderly conduct and refusal to be arrested.
A source close to the family told DailyMail.com in mid-August that the young mother had suffered severe head trauma.
There is a $30,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, and the public is encouraged to contact the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
