Skai Jackson is “relieved” not to be charged following her arrest on suspicion of domestic battery at Universal Studios.
The former Disney Channel star’s statement comes after the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office declined to file charges and dropped the case against him.
“Skai is relieved that the investigation has revealed that this was nothing more than a misunderstanding,” a representative for Jackson said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE on Friday.
“We appreciate that the district attorney determined very quickly that there should be no charges of any kind and Skai looks forward to putting this behind him,” he continued.
Nearly a month ago, the 22-year-old actress was previously arrested on August 8 at Universal Studios CityWalk in Los Angeles, California, following an alleged altercation with her boyfriend.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed she was taken to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station and released a few hours later.
Police responded to a call from the theme park after security detained Jackson for allegedly pushing her boyfriend.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage of the alleged incident.
No weapons were involved and there were no identifiable injuries, the sheriff’s department confirmed at the time.
The star, who avoided questions from fans regarding her arrest, had no charges filed against her as prosecutors found a lack of evidence. TMZ reported on Saturday.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office told the outlet that the case will not go forward because Jackson has no criminal record.
The alleged victim, her boyfriend, had no injuries and had not been cooperating with prosecutors.

On Wednesday, Skai notably avoided fans’ questions about going to jail during the star’s TikTok Live as she returned to social media following her arrest on suspicion of domestic battery.
The star discussed other topics while filming the livestream, but notably chose not to speak about the arrest.
In a shared fragment to Xformerly known as Twitter, Jackson could be seen talking about an upcoming television project, but in the comments, fans continued to question the actress about the arrest.
“She’s answering everything except our questions,” one user wrote on social media, while another added: “Girl what happened to you in jail?”
One fan also asked, “Why did they lock you up?” while others simply wrote the word “jail” in the comments.
Skai, who currently has 22 million followers on the platform, explained during the clip: “I have a TV show that I just filmed, but I can’t say what it’s about yet.”
The Jessie star has been active on social media following the arrest and also returned to Instagram on Wednesday.
She uploaded a video to her Instagram homepage to show a sneak peek of her “hair wash and grooming day.” However, there was no mention of her arrest in the comments section.
