- TikTok released by real estate company Resoma shares six useful cooking ‘hacks’
A TikTok video shares some useful cooking “hacks” that could help make your experience behind the stove a lot less complicated.
A clip released by real estate company Resoma shares six tips, from helping you keep food fresh longer to being able to choose the size of peppercorns you want on your dish.
Prevents frozen food from falling out of the package
A clip released by real estate company Resoma shares six tips, from helping you keep food fresh longer to being able to choose the size of peppercorns you want on your dish.
The first “trick” suggested is to prevent frozen foods from falling out of their packaging by making the container airtight.
To do this, you need to cut a rectangular shape out of the center part of any frozen food bag, which will help create two handles that can also tie together to prevent any food from spilling into your freezer compartment.
However, one user said not to try this with some popular frozen foods because they will spill due to their small size.
They wrote: “The first one, not with peas, I can’t pour them.”
Stop your pasta water from bubbling

Have you ever had problems with the amount of boiling water dripping onto your pan when cooking pasta?
To prevent this from happening, Resoma suggests putting a wooden spoon in the water while it boils before adding the pasta.
Alternatively, you can also use a larger pan with higher sides to prevent the water from rising too high.
Regarding the pasta “hack”, another user helpfully remarked: “You can rest the wooden spoon on the pan to prevent it from boiling over.” »
Make stale bread taste fresh again

If you often buy a loaf of fresh bread but can’t eat it all before the loaf starts to get tough and stale, worry no more.
To make it fresh again, Resoma recommends “covering it with a small amount of water, wrapping it in foil and putting it in the oven for five minutes at 180°C.”
The result was a warm, incredibly soft loaf – much better for cutting a slice than a hard, stale piece of bread.
One user found this pointer particularly useful, commenting: “The bread one is awesome.”
Easily find the end of cling film or aluminum foil

Their next tip says: “Do you spend half your life trying to find the end of the cling film? » If so, we have the hack for you.
This involves pushing in the two tabs on the end of the box and pushing them down.
Resoma explains “the cardboard tabs hold the roll in place and prevent you from using the end of the cling film.
Another comment on the clip informed other viewers that the trick also works for similarly designed foil packets, leaving no more effort to remove the foils that end up as a crumpled mess.
Choose the coarseness of the pepper on a pepper mill

If you like to cook with pepper and season your dishes liberally with spices, you probably know this tip.
It’s worth noting that most pepper mills have two settings: one for fine pepper and one for coarse pepper.
To switch between the two, Resoma advises pulling the grinder’s plastic tab upward so that coarser peppercorns are released.
Use the tab of your can opener as a straw

The company’s final tip involves an innovative way to use the tab of a can opener to hold a straw.
All you have to do is open the can normally but – instead of drinking straight from the can when it’s open – simply twist the tab so it covers the hole and insert a straw through it.
In addition to preventing potential injury from cutting yourself on the rim of the can, the tab also prevents your straw from moving once you’ve put it in your beverage of choice.
