Earlier this summer, Janelle’s ex-sister and wife Meri Brown shared that there were “good days and bad days” for the grieving parents.
“I’m so sorry about Janelle. I watched my mother lose two of her own children before she passed away. It’s tragic,” she shared on the Podcast of the knowledgeable lady in June.
“I think there are good days and bad days, I don’t know how there couldn’t be,” he continued.

“Sometimes it feels like you’re never gone,” she begins her message. “And then I remember I won’t get a call or a text from you and it all comes back to me all at once.”
‘There are still times when I look at a photo of Garrison and think, ‘Oh, I hate that this happened. It’s really sad.’
Meri explained that grief is “different in every situation.”
“You have to do what you have to do at this moment. Accept the pain, cry when you need to, spend time alone, and when you feel okay, get up and go for a walk.”
Meri also emphasized that grieving is not a linear process.
“I think a lot of times people have a box that they think they should live in. Grief isn’t linear, it’s not a checklist. It’s all the emotions, all the time, and whenever they choose to show up.”

Garrison died on March 5 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and was buried a week later.
She added that although life will eventually get better, the love for the person who left cannot be replaced.
“I think a lot of people will say, ‘You’re going to get over it, you’re going to get over it.’ And you will, but I think it creates a hole and people will say that hole will be filled, but the hole will always be there.”
