Sir Paul McCartney has received an injection of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The Beatles star, 79, wore a facemask and cap as he rolled up his sleeve for the shot, which was administered by a medical professional.

Sir Paul took to Twitter on Monday to share the photo and told his followers: ‘BE COOL. GET VAX’D – Paul.’

In December, the Liverpool rock star insisted that he be vaccinated ‘as soon as I can’.

He told The sun at that moment. “The vaccine will save us from this. I think we’ll get through it, I know we’ll get through it, and it’s great news about the vaccine.

Paul and his wife Nancy Shevell, 61, spent quality time together in the Hamptons, America, during the pandemic.

The couple has been together since 2007 and married four years later in 2011 in a ceremony in Marylebone.

It is believed that Paul and Nancy, who is 18 years younger, first met thanks to the fact that they both had homes in the Hamptons.

Paul had previously been married twice before – he married his first wife Linda in 1969 and the couple were married until Linda died, aged 56, in 1998, after a battle with breast cancer.

Paul and Linda share four children; daughters Heather, Mary and Stella, and son James.

He later married second wife Heather Mills, with whom he shares daughter Beatrice, in 2002 – they split four years later in 2006 and their divorce, which cost the star £24.3 million, was finalized in 2008.
