Friends of Sir Elton John are reportedly “seriously worried” about the music legend as he works harder than ever amid his ongoing health problems.
The 77-year-old is fresh off the 330-date Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour and recently launched new musicals Tammy Faye on Broadway and The Devil Wears Prada in London.
During the West End premiere on Sunday, Sir Elton took to the stage and in an emotional speech spoke of not being able to see the performance following his loss of vision, before being guided off stage by his loving husband David Funrish, 62.
Now a source has said the sun: ‘Elton’s friends are seriously concerned about everything he has taken on and believe it is having a huge impact on his health.
“Many people close to him have encouraged him to slow down because this year he has been busier than ever.”
Before adding: “He is not getting younger and his health has been deteriorating in recent years.”

“The goal of his farewell tour was that he would be home more once it was over, but he’s still working with an intense schedule, something has to give.”

During his speech in London, the Rocketman singer thanked David for being his ‘rock’ during preparations for the official opening of the show on Sunday, sharing: ‘It’s hard for me to watch, but I love listening to it.’
He recently admitted that he hasn’t been able to see out of his right eye for months and that his left eye is “not the best,” due to a serious infection. It is not known if the condition is temporary.
Speaking at The Dominion Theatre, Sir Elton said in a clip shared with MailOnline: “And to my husband, who has been my rock because I haven’t been able to attend a lot of the previews because, as you know, I’ve lost my sight.” .
“So it’s hard for me to watch, but I love listening to it and, wow, it sounded good tonight.” Thank you for coming.’

Elton wrote: ‘Over the summer I have been dealing with a serious eye infection which has unfortunately left me with limited vision in one eye.
‘I am recovering, but it is an extremely slow process and it will be some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.
“I am very grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the past few weeks.”
Elton concluded: “I have quietly spent the summer recovering at home and feel positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery so far.”
