Simone Biles apparently injured her calf muscle after slipping while practicing for the floor final.

Simone Biles appeared to injure her calf muscle after slipping while warming up for the women’s floor final at the Olympics on Monday morning.

Biles, who won gold medals in the team, all-around and vault events in the French capital, grimaced as she finished her routine.

She then went to receive medical attention and returned with a bandage on her left leg. Biles also appeared to be limping as she tried to walk to recover from the injury.

A medal in the floor final would tie her with Czechoslovakia’s Vera Caslavska for second most medals won by a female gymnast in Olympic history, behind only former Soviet Union’s Larisa Latynina’s 18.

Earlier on Monday, Biles lost a medal on the balance beam after Team USA’s golden girl fell off the apparatus.

Biles had to step off the beam after losing her balance midway through her routine.

Fellow American Suni Lee also suffered a major disappointment, as her medal hopes were dashed when she also fell off the apparatus during her routine.
