Simone Biles revealed the nickname for the US gymnastics team after her victory on Tuesday

Simone Biles hesitantly revealed the nickname for the U.S. gymnastics team after securing the top spot on the podium in the group all-around competition Tuesday morning.

Biles, 27, led the United States with teammates Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera to secure gold over rivals Italy and Brazil in Paris.

After the monumental win that made her the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history, former Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman asked Biles what the “team name” was.

Her teammates were quick to step in and dissuade Biles from revealing it before she replied, “I’m not going to say it.”

However, it took someone suggesting that she shorten the nickname, something Biles took a few minutes to figure out, for the secret title to come to light.

“FAAFO,” Biles said before one of her teammates slipped up and revealed it stood for “Fuck it and find out,” leaving a room full of press members laughing.

Biles later took to social media to clarify that the team had a healthier name than what was revealed at the press conference.

“Well, actually the official name of the team is Golden Girls (because it’s the oldest Olympic team),” she wrote on X.

Hours later, as celebrations continued, Biles mocked former teammate MyKayla Skinner in an Instagram post commemorating her win. In a now-deleted YouTube video, Skinner, who was Biles’ teammate in 2021, criticized the 2024 team for not having the proper “work ethic.”

“Aside from Simone, I feel like the talent and depth is not what it used to be,” the 27-year-old said. “The girls just don’t have the work ethic.”

After blocking Skinner on social media, Biles lashed out at her former teammate following her victory in the French capital.

“Lack of talent, laziness, Olympic champions,” Biles captioned the post with a series of emojis including a heart, a gold medal and the American flag.

The Americans took home the gold after finishing with 171.296 points. Italy and Brazil took home silver and bronze, respectively.
