“ Was there a change in their beliefs?
Simon Jordan has insisted Graham Potter’s departure from Chelsea “will not be just a consequence” following his dismissal on Sunday.
This came after losing 2-0 to Aston Villa and leaving the Blues 11th in the Premier League table, with the same number of points from the relegation zone as from the top four.
Potter’s reign saw him win just 12 of the 31 games he played, although, as Jordan points out, he did lead Chelsea to the Champions League quarter-finals with victory over Borussia Dortmund.
“They’re still in the Champions League,” he said, “and maybe it’s over (Potter’s sacking) thinking they can pull some magic off their asses and get to the Champions League final like they did in previous formats.” TalkSPORT.
“(Maybe they) can win it when no one thought they were going to, maybe there’s some forethought there.”
Graham Potter has been sacked as Chelsea manager after Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Aston Villa

The result left the Blues 11th in the table and just as close to relegation as they are in the Champions League
Jordan questioned the reasoning behind Todd Bohle’s quick work with 10 league games remaining, adding: ‘There has to be a big change. It won’t just be results.
“The results were bad, but they were bad (for a while), he must have seen something (before) and thought we would stay with this guy like Arsenal did with (Mikel) Arteta.”
Chelsea initially seemed willing to support Potter no matter what, as did Arsenal with his young coach who is now leading them into a title race after his initial struggles, but that seemed to end with the Villa match.
It couldn’t just be about the loss, Jordan insists, though, as he puts it: ‘Pohle must have been looking at Potter now and thinking the lights were out.

Simon Jordan felt that Todd Bohle could not be the sole driver behind the results

The critic felt there had to be a “major change” in the club that ended their support of Potter
“Something caused it, because they weren’t bad against Aston Villa, they beat Aston Villa.”
The Blues will next up against fellow struggling giants Liverpool on Tuesday.
They will be led for the match by Bruno Saltor, who will act as interim boss until a permanent replacement is appointed.
Julian Nagelsmann is the favorite to take over, with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino also in the running.
