In exclusive footage obtained by MailOnline, an emotional Simon admitted he “couldn’t speak” as he urged guests to show their support for the charity.
Fighting back tears, she said: “So, I can’t talk, so we discussed doing something slightly different before asking people to stand up and donate £1,000.”
Simon is a long-standing supporter of the charity Together For Short Lives, which raises money for palliative care for children with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses.
