He previously suffered a devastating injury that left him bedridden for most of 2020 after a cycling accident.

And Simon Cowell proved that he was not deterred by the setback when he rode his e-bike through West London again on Thursday.

The 61-year-old media mogul was a casual figure for the outing when he wrapped himself in a black bomber jacket that he wore with white shorts.

The Britain’s Got Talent jury also wore a pair of black trainers and put safety first with a matching face mask.

Simon, who was in the accident near his home in Malibu, recently landed in the UK when he was spotted on a trip to California last week.

The accident happened a stone’s throw from his home in Malibu when he crashed in the estate’s courtyard.

“Simon has broken his back in a number of places,” said a spokesman after the fall.

The former American Idol judge had to undergo surgery after the crash to have a fishing rod inserted.

In any case, he did well enough after the accident to share a short message on his social media accounts.

“Good advice … If you’re buying an electric trail bike, read the manual before riding it for the first time,” he wrote.

‘I broke part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages. And many thanks to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I’ve ever had. ‘

Simon was with girlfriend Lauren Silverman, their son Eric, seven, and her son from a previous relationship at the time of the accident, according to ABC News.

Due to his injuries, the record boss had to miss the return of his series America’s Got Talent.

In October, The Sun reported that Simon had taken a turnaround that would slow his recovery significantly.

He developed complications from surgery to fuse two vertebrae, usually requiring him to stay in bed for six months.

At the time, he was said to be on heavy painkillers and was too sick to record even short promos for America’s Got Talent from home.

However, he was still able to walk a bit through his own garden and do some light physiotherapy in a pool.

But in February of this year, Simon said he was doing significantly better and appeared to be cheerful.

“The first four weeks were the hardest,” he recalled to ET that month. ‘Because you feel a little helpless, and it was the first time in my life that I ever felt helpless.

“Then you get bored and frustrated, and I was in so much pain, if I’m honest with you.”

As he described it, the pain miraculously disappeared weeks after recovery.

“Just like the doctor said, you’ve hit this seven, eight week mark, and it’s like it never happened. I mean, literally like that, so there were a lot of pros. ‘
