Emilia Fox has revealed that her boyfriend Jonathan Stadlen frequently proposes to her, but she has not yet said yes.

She told the publication: ‘Jonathan asks me to marry him every day, but we’re not officially married.
‘Just telling each other that we love each other every day has been enough for us right now. It’s felt very romantic because every day there is the option to say, ‘Yes, I really want to marry you today.’
She added: ‘He asks me in different places and at different times. Sometimes when we wake up, sometimes it’s at lunchtime, sometimes it’s on our knees!

‘I’m a big believer in marriage and a staunch romantic, but I don’t know if we need to have a ceremonial marriage or what that looks like for our family. “Children are the biggest consideration.”
Emilia, who shares daughter Rose, 14, with ex-partner Jeremy Gilley, described her relationship with Jonathan Stadlen as “amazing” but admitted they “work hard” to make it thrive.
She explained, “When you get to a certain age and have experiences (I’ve been living my way with Rose for a long time), you have to keep working on communication and figuring out what we’re bringing to this relationship in our stories.” .
‘The good things but also the bad and how to solve them together. It is very revealing to be in love, in a relationship and see if the other can accept it in its entirety.
‘Rose and I have been in a cocoon of togetherness, which is opening up. Rose has her father as her father, but Jonathan is amazing to her: kind, loving, and considerate.
Elsewhere in the interview, Emilia also shared that she feels like she has a new chance at life since turning 50, a milestone she celebrated in July.
Emilia said: “I definitely felt excitement turning 50. I’m not afraid of the unknown or what will happen next.”
“When I was in my 20s and 30s, I always wanted to know what I was doing and never wanted to look back, whereas now I want to think, ‘I had a great time.’ I want to enjoy the second half of my life.

“I had a great time in the first half, but Rose is a teenager now and I’ve worked hard to try to achieve that balance between work and Rose. I think at 50 there could be some fun!

‘My actual birthday was quiet because I had been filming until 4am.
‘The next day we went to enjoy the most delicious family lunch at The River Cafe.
‘As I begin my 50s with the people I love, how lucky am I?’
Since 2004, Emilia has played Dr. Nikki Alexander in Silent Witness since taking over the role of the series’ protagonist, replacing Amanda Burton.
Speaking about taking on the role, she said: “I was really worried about having to take Amanda’s place because I don’t think you could.”
“I was very worried about having to take Amanda’s place because I don’t think you could do it. When they first kindly offered me the job of Silent Witness, I said, ‘I don’t think I can be a copy of Amanda,’ and (the writers) said, ‘Don’t worry, we’re going to write a different kind of character.’ It was then the three of us, the three pathologists.
She added: ‘He asks me in different places and at different times. Sometimes when we wake up, sometimes it’s at lunchtime, sometimes it’s on our knees!’
She continued: “I’m a big believer in marriage and a die-hard romantic, but I don’t know if we need to have a ceremonial marriage or what that looks like for our family. The kids are the biggest consideration.”
“Amanda left us an incredible legacy and then when she came back (for the historic 25th season), it was such a celebration to work with her.
‘She is just amazing. He literally stepped into Sam Ryan’s shoes again. It was great for us and great for the characters.
‘The program has had different evolutions with different regular casts and we have always been lucky to get along well.
