A cleaning expert has revealed her fryer cleaning hack that requires little effort and means no scrubbing at all.

In this video, Claire filmed a step-by-step tutorial of how she got her air fryer looking squeaky clean after using it to cook bacon.

She told viewers: ‘I’m going to show you the easiest way to clean your fryer. So I just cooked bacon in mine and I’m not going to let it dry out.

“So before I sit down and eat my piece of bacon, I’m going to soak it, this is the easiest way, soak it in hot water.”

The cleaning professional demonstrated how to take the removable compartment of her fryer, which was covered in oil, to the sink and fill it with hot tap water.

Claire explained: “We’re going to turn on the hot water and this way there won’t be any scrubbing because it’s still hot and it’s still wet, so you’re not giving it time to dry properly.”

“So we’re going to leave that at that and we’re going to use one of these and I’ll come back to you once I’ve eaten.”

He held a Dishmatic sponge attached to a stick, the inside of the handle of which can be filled with dishwashing liquid.

After returning from eating his food, he emptied all the dirty water from the compartment, after letting it soak.

“Normally, if you had let it dry, the bacon residue and juices would have stuck together.”

He concluded by showing off his impeccable results: ‘So you can see how easy it is to clean, again, the bucket. Nothing has stuck to it at all.

‘Look how easy that was. Look, if I had sat down and let everything dry, I probably would have had to pull out a Brillo pad, but look at that: this was just a magical toy. Ready and ready to go.’

Although the trick seemed to have great results in the video, some commenters were concerned about the “greasy water” going down the drain.

One user wrote: “Careful don’t block the drains with that greasy water,” and a second added: “Grease the drain,” along with a surprised emoji.

Meanwhile, a third insisted: ‘Just get a bloody fryer liner. She keeps you safe and looking great longer.”
