This is the sickening moment a charity fundraiser was overheard telling a woman he “wished she had breast cancer” after she refused to sign up for monthly donations.

The woman was left stunned after a Breast Cancer Now worker was caught saying: “I hope you make it”, in reference to the disease, on her Ring doorbell moments after she closed the front door.

She chased the man down the street and confronted him, but said he “showed no remorse” and denied saying anything.

The woman, whose grandmother died of breast cancer, said: “I thought it was my son coming home from school so I quickly opened it as the oven beeped.”

‘I saw it wasn’t him and he politely said ‘I’m not interested, thank you’ and closed the door.

‘I thought I heard him say something when he left, so I checked my Ring camera. He said something. I hope you understand.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said the man went to her home in Leyland, Lancashire, asking for donations on November 6.

But when she politely said she wasn’t interested and closed the door, her Ring Doorbell captured the moment the man said he “hopes I get the disease.”

She said: “He had the nerve to deny it and showed no remorse and said I was the rude one for slamming the door in his face.”

‘First of all, I didn’t do it. I quickly said ‘no thanks’ and had to pull the door hard to make it click shut.

‘Secondly, how can someone who works for a breast cancer charity wish you breast cancer because you thought it was rude?’

The woman said she does not want Breast Cancer Now to be tarnished by the man’s behavior.

She posted the incident on Facebook to raise awareness of her behavior to the charity and prevent it from causing further disruption to those affected by cancer.

A spokesperson for Breast Cancer Now said the fundraiser had been contracted by Appco UK to raise funds on behalf of the charity.

They said: “The safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in our fundraising events is our top priority and we take any complaints made very seriously.”

‘The details of this incident fall far below the high standards we expect from our external fundraisers, and we would like to offer our sincere apologies to the woman for any distress and upset caused.
