Shots were fired during an armed robbery at a shopping center in western Sydney on Monday afternoon.
A man has been arrested and an investigation is now underway into the robbery that took place at a jewelry store in Carnes Hill Marketplace.
Police were called around 4.45pm Monday afternoon following reports of an armed robbery and have since been told that two men entered the store and smashed glass display cabinets before unloading a firearm.
The two men fled, but fortunately there are no reports of injuries to other customers or staff.
Police say they were directed to a motorcycle outside the mall on arrival and the male co-driver was arrested as the motorcycle fled the scene.
Police say they seized a firearm and various jewelry during a search.
Liverpool City Police Command has identified a crime scene and it will be investigated by specialist forensic police.
