Miss Universe Australia has been enjoying a European holiday despite her company being chased by the tax office over a debt of more than $10,000.

Moraya Wilson, from Melbourne, was crowned Miss Universe Australia in 2023 and subsequently finished third in the international pageant.

She is listed as the sole director of 10 deregistered companies, one of which owes $13,204 to the ATO.

It is believed that the Treasury has been pursuing the company for months over the debt, news.com.au reported.

The revelation comes as Wilson continues to post photos on her social media account showing the 22-year-old in London, Amsterdam and Paris.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Ms Wilson for comment.

Ms Wilson’s 10 companies, which were involved in the hospitality, construction and property development sectors, were deregistered by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission in October last year.

He previously denied any involvement in the companies or knowledge of their operation and said he resigned from all of them.

Wilson’s entry into the Miss Universe pageant previously sparked controversy due to her parents’ business dealings.

His father, Anton Wilson, ran several companies that collapsed owing creditors more than $45 million, leading to bankruptcy in 2017.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) banned Wilson from managing corporations until 2027 and his ex-wife Melinda Wilson was disqualified from managing corporations for five years, with debts of $39 million.

The controversy even spread to the Victorian Parliament, where shade transport minister and former opposition leader Matthew Guy called on ASIC to reopen investigations into his parents.

During his statement to state parliament, Mr Guy said a number of his constituents had contacted his office concerned about the “actions of Mr and Mrs Wilson”.

“I note that a lot of money is owed on this issue and has been at stake, and many Victorians have been financially harmed and are seeking the redress they are entitled to,” Mr Guy said.

“It is not right that several companies linked to these individuals continue to operate while tens of millions of dollars in unpaid debts remain outstanding,” Mr Guy said.

The bankruptcy trustee overseeing Wilson’s case, Nicholas Crouch of Crouch Amirbeaggi, alleged in a document to parliament that Wilson had been listed as a director of the ten companies so that they could continue to operate despite the bankruptcy.

Anton Wilson has been charged with knowingly signing a false statement and defrauding creditors of a bankrupt company.

He is scheduled to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on a date yet to be determined.
