Shoppers rushed to Target to take advantage of a massive discount on the Amazon Kindle that dropped the price from $119 to just $35.
The shopping bonanza began after a TikTok user shared how she managed to get her hands on one of the discounted devices.
The offer only applied to the 6-inch Kindle Kids e-reader released in 2022.
“So, a little bird told me, like in a video I saw on TikTok, that Target is selling (Kindle Kids) at a really discounted price of $35. So, of course, I drove out here to see if it’s true.
Target shoppers were able to purchase the $119 six-inch Kids’ Kindle for just $35 at some stores.
The sale at Target stores reduced the item from $120 to $35 with a deep discount.
He didn’t find any on the shelves, so he asked a store employee, who then left the warehouse with one of the discounted devices.
“I jumped a little for joy when they pulled it out from the back because there weren’t any on the shelf,” he said.
Deeva wasn’t the only one to snag the big offer.
A video commentator said they had also managed to buy it for $30.
Another commented on her second video, where she opened her new Kindle, saying, “Getting a Kindle on clearance is a great deal.”
Not all buyers were so lucky, and many stores sold out or are still selling the device at full price.
One comment said: “Clearance prices are NOT objective at all.”
Another wrote: ‘I didn’t arrive on time. I missed it.’
“All the stores in my area are either completely sold out or selling it at full price,” said another.
Deeva said she was now a ‘Kindle girl’ after purchasing the device at a discount.
It is rumored that the price reduction is due to the launch of a new version of the Kindle that will be released soon.
Deeva responded to a commenter who didn’t arrive in time for the sale, saying, “It’s been ~rumored~ that a new version of the Kindle is coming out next year, so it was on clearance, so I’d keep it.” “We are on the lookout for more sales in the future.”
The new version of the Kindle could bring a better six-inch backlit screen, faster page turns, higher resolution and larger text.
