Australian foodies are rushing to Aldi in search of a handy kitchen utensil perfect for preparing delicious lunches on the go.

Shoppers love this budget find that has two microwave-safe grill plates covered with a silicone exterior.

Users prepare a sandwich and place it in the sandwich maker before toasting it in the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes and turning it once, depending on their preference.

A Melbourne mother bought one of the microwave toast makers at her local Aldi store, where she said there were only eight left on the shelves.

‘I love this!!’ he wrote in a post on Markdown Addicts Australia, while others have been talking about online shopping.

“I’ve been waiting for toast to be available again,” said one customer.

“Our local store literally sold out in minutes,” a second responded, while a third said they saw a similar device at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney for more than $50.

‘I received one for Christmas from my husband. I LOVE IT. The sandwiches are crispy and taste great. Mine came from Big W,” said another mother.
