Cardnet has admitted that some card terminals pay double
Thousands of customers were billed twice last week when using their credit and debit card.
Cardnet, which processes card payments in shops and restaurants, has admitted that some card terminals have made double payments due to a computer failure on Wednesday, August 29th.
Lloyds Bank, which owns the payment provider, says that the problem involved less than 5 percent of the transactions.
But it still doubled thousands of payments that day and since the problem was caused by the card processing system, it hit customers of all banks.
If you suffered from this, you should have been automatically reimbursed, but check your statement. Contact your bank if you discover an error.
