A shopper was horrified to discover a giant cicada inside a salad bought at her local Woolworths store.
The customer found the dead insect when he was halfway through Korean-style salad purchased at a Woolies store in New South Wales.
“Found this big guy in my Korean style salad today… halfway through eating it (the salad),” the man wrote alongside photos of the cicada.
In the photographs of the ruined salad, the man used his hand as a reference to show how big the cicada is next to the corn, cabbage and grated carrot.
Australians were quick to share their thoughts on the disgusting find.
“No, that’s a salad,” one person wrote.
Oh shit. “Someone really made their Woolies worth it,” a second joked.
—You paid badly. The cicada topping has an extra charge,’ commented a third.
‘It could have been worse… I could have only found half of it!’ said a fourth.

“Since I was halfway through the salad, there was a good chance that would have happened,” the man responded.
One commenter suggested there was a silver lining.
“That’s how you know the salad is fresh and chemical-free,” they said.
It looks like the growers didn’t spray it with nasty pesticides. They would have washed it, so it’s not that bad.
“But I would still probably take it back for a refund or replacement.”
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Woolworths for comment.
