This is the shocking moment an 86-year-old Israeli hostage was apparently kidnapped by Hamas on the back of a motorbike before his death weeks later.

Aryeh Zalmanovich of Kibbutz Nir Oz was taken hostage on October 7 when Hamas invaded Israel, killing more than 1,000 civilians.

He is then said to have died while in captivity in November, and is claimed to have been executed after his health deteriorated greatly due to lack of medication.

Shocking footage shows the grandfather of five being kidnapped on the back of a motorbike, flanked by his captors sitting behind and in front of him.

During the video, the group moves through the streets while Mr. Zalmanovich is visibly injured with blood stains on his clothes and a large wound on his head.

A tractor with Israeli license plates leads the crowd, with people standing and waving from atop the large vehicle.

The video was first shown during N12’s weekend news edition, which shed light on the elderly man’s abduction.

The father-of-two is said to have been hiding in a safe room on his kibbutz when he was discovered by his attackers, before being taken away without his glasses or hearing aid.

Hamas reportedly released a video in mid-November showing Zalmanovich in critical condition.

The footage is said to show the grandfather lying in a bed hooked up to a monitor, when he said he was not feeling well.

In images taken later, he is said to be seen motionless and wrapped in a white sheet.

Kibbutz Nir Oz later announced Zalmanovich’s death in captivity in December.

This comes after Palestinian health authorities said earlier this month that an Israeli airstrike hit a school-turned-shelter in Gaza City, killing more than 100 people.

The Health Ministry’s ambulance and emergency services said the attack on the Tabeen school in central Gaza City also wounded 47 people.

The Israeli military acknowledged the attack and said it had hit a Hamas command center inside the school, but provided no evidence.
