A Brazilian actress who mysteriously disappeared from an exclusive neighborhood was found seriously injured in a hotel room in São Paulo.
Maidê Mahl was discovered by police on Thursday evening, after having been last seen days earlier in the Moema neighbourhood.
After being found, the 31-year-old woman had to be resuscitated and rushed to hospital, where she remained until Friday morning.
The actress was having difficulty breathing when authorities located her, Ivalda Alexeido, head of the Homicide and Personal Protection Department of the State of São Paulo, told media outlet G1.

Mahl, who had roles in the HBO Max series ‘Vale dos Esquidos’ (The Forgotten Valley) and the Star+ series ‘O Rei da TV’ (The King of Television), was reported missing by her family on Monday.
After reviewing surveillance cameras, the São Paulo Civil Police managed to track the actress to a hotel in downtown São Paulo and broke down the door after she did not respond.
The hospital declined to comment on Mahl’s condition, but the actress’s friend, singer Michelle Rodrigues, said she was recovering.
“She is being well cared for, well assisted, well looked after and now we are all hoping for her to recover as quickly as possible,” Rodrigues said.
The Homicide and Personal Protection Department’s missing persons unit is investigating what happened inside the hotel room.
The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat said in a statement that the hotel “provided all assistance to guest Maidê Mahl and is currently collaborating with the authorities, respecting the confidentiality of the information.”

A friend said Maidê Mahl was dealing with a mental health issue and receiving treatment.
Adilon Harley, a psychiatrist and friend of the actress, revealed in an Instagram story earlier this week that Mahl was dealing with mental health issues.
“One of the loves of our lives is in danger. Maidê is loved by all who have the privilege of being by her side,” Harley wrote in another Instagram post.
“He has been suffering from serious health problems for some time and is receiving state-of-the-art care and treatment.”
