AFL’s ‘sexiest WAG’ Chelsea Becirevic has revealed how her move to a new life in Dubai unfolded after leaving her football star boyfriend Ivan Soldo behind because he couldn’t stand living in Adelaide.
Becirevic, 23, left her glamorous Melbourne lifestyle to follow boyfriend Soldo to the City of Churches last November when he was transferred from Richmond to Port Adelaide.
However, she proved the novelty of living in “Radelaide” had completely worn off when six months later she announced on Instagram that she was moving to Dubai to start a new life working for an airline.
The star ruckman has since requested a transfer to a Victorian club, and it could well be to appease his glamorous girlfriend.
Becirevic revealed to her numerous social media followers on Wednesday that, despite some reports, she is still in a relationship with Soldo, could return to Melbourne and her new life in Dubai has not gone as planned.
“I returned to Australia a few weeks ago,” she posted on Instagram.
‘I honestly hated long distances, they were very difficult, and I missed Australia a lot.
‘I met some amazing friends in Dubai and I’m so glad I did, even for the short time I was there. I miss you girls.
Chelsea Becirevic has announced she has moved back to Australia after declaring she was moving to a new life in Dubai because Adelaide was too boring.
Ivan Soldo has asked to return to Melbourne after just one year in Adelaide, sparking speculation he did so to be with Becirevic (pictured together).
‘I’m very happy to be back home.’
Becirevic also revealed that he no longer works for Emirates airline and said the job “was fun while it lasted.”
“It’s a great way to meet lots of different people and have a bit of fun,” she wrote.
“If you want to travel, it’s a great way to do it. But it’s definitely very glamorized on the Internet.
‘I was very homesick and found work very isolating.’
Becirevic then addressed the furore over his move from Adelaide.
“I am truly fed up with this ridiculous narrative that continues to circulate,” she said.
‘I have remained silent for too long, but it is time to set the record straight.
‘Somehow I have become the centre of attention in a business that has nothing to do with me.
‘Not that it’s anyone’s business, but I came back from Dubai to support my boyfriend and somehow I find myself being dragged into the media.
‘It’s disappointing to see the same old story, where the girl is blamed for everything.
‘Let’s be clear: I have never spoken ill of Adelaida.’
A follower asked if she was planning to move to Melbourne next, to which Becirevic replied: “I’m not sure where I’ll be yet… I’m just going with the flow at the moment.”
‘We’ll be spending the offseason at home with our family at the GC, so I’m super excited to see everyone.’
Melbourne-based side St Kilda are reportedly interested in acquiring the ruckman, who played just eight senior games for the Power this year.
Football journalist Callum Twomey wrote on X: “Soldo has struggled to adapt to life in Adelaide and after a year he is eager to return to Melbourne. The Saints can partner him with Rowan Marshall as a point of difference.”
Becirevic said it was difficult being away from her partner and she is happy to be back in Australia after finding life in Dubai did not suit her.
There is a good chance that Becirevic will return to live in Melbourne soon.
When he announced his departure to Dubai, a follower asked him how Soldo took the news.
Becirevic showed his sense of humour by posting a photo of himself looking towards the corner of an elevator with his hands at his sides accompanied by the words “surprisingly he is taking it very well”.
She also wrote that they plan to keep their relationship “long distance for a while” and for him to travel with her in the offseason, but also admitted they will struggle with his inability to visit her before Port’s campaign ends later this year.
Becirevic’s concerns about Adelaide were foreshadowed when the biomedical science student first announced the move last November, shortly after turning heads and being announced as one of Australia’s most attractive WAGs when she and Soldo attended Richmond’s Best and Fairest awards.
The glamorous WAG revealed that she had a hard time adjusting to the City of Churches
“To be honest, I can’t say I ever thought I’d move to Adelaide,” she wrote.
“I’ve never been to Adelaide so I have no idea what to expect… and I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews.”
