Dramatic body camera footage has emerged of the moment Dolphins star Tyreek Hill was detained by police and wrestled to the ground.
The wide receiver was handcuffed while heading to the Dolphins’ season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Officers could be heard telling Hill to “stop crying” after pulling him out of his car and forcing him to fall face down on the road.
“When we tell you to do something, you do it. Do you understand? Not what you want, but what we tell you. You’re a little confused,” one officer told him.
A Florida police union said Hill was driving dangerously when he was stopped in Miami on Sunday and was handcuffed after he refused to cooperate with them.
Dramatic body camera footage has emerged of the moment Dolphins star Tyreek Hill was arrested
The Miami wide receiver was dragged out of his luxury car by an officer after being detained.
In a remarkable three-minute clip from the scene, Hill can be heard talking on the phone, apparently to his agent Drew Rosenhaus.
‘Hey Drew, I’m going to get arrested, I’m going to get arrested!’ the wide receiver was heard yelling as officers detained him.
The 30-year-old was quickly taken to the sidewalk and forced to sit on the ground by two police officers. “I just had knee surgery!” Hill shouted. “Easy, bro! Easy, bro!”
An officer replied sarcastically: “Really? What a coincidence… you could have had your ears operated on when we told you to roll down the window.”
Hill was released a few minutes later, having received “two traffic tickets.” He continued to play for the Dolphins and scored An 80-yard touchdown that helped Miami come back and take the victory by 20 to 17. The receiver celebrated the goal by imitating being handcuffed.
Hill was soon pinned to the ground and warned: “When we tell you to do something, you do it.”
The beginning of the body camera footage shows the moment police approach Hill’s car. The receiver appears to hand over his license before telling the officer to “do what you have to do.”
The 30-year-old then rolled up his window, prompting officers to bang on the car and tell Hill: “Hey, keep that window down!”
“Keep your window down or I’ll kick you out of the car. In fact, get out of the car,” one officer told Hill before another warned the receiver: “We’re going to break that damn window.”
A few seconds later, Hill was told: “We’re not going to play with this car, get out of the car.” An officer then opened the driver’s door and grabbed Hill.
“I’m leaving!” Hill pleaded before an officer put his hand on his neck and pulled him out of the car. “Get out, GET OUT! What part of that don’t you understand?”
