Kamala Harris has taken a five-point lead in a head-to-head matchup with Donald Trump, according to a new national poll.

The Marquette University poll also found that when third-party candidates, including Robert F. Kennedy and Cornel West, are added, Harris has an eight-point lead.

The shocking results show Harris continuing to experience a surge in popularity after President Joe Biden announced he would not run.

Kamala Harris has overtaken Donald Trump in the two weeks since announcing her entry into the presidential race.

But that 4 percentage point lead over the former president increases to 6 percent when likely voters are also taken into account.

The poll was conducted from July 24 to Aug. 1, meaning the results did not include opinions on Harris’ new running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who joined her campaign on Tuesday.

The results also indicate that Harris has not necessarily given Democrats a greater chance of victory in November.

When registered voters were asked who they would have voted for if Joe Biden had remained in the race, 43 percent said the president, 47 percent said Trump and another 11 percent said they didn’t know.

Both Harris and Biden have a 4 percentage point lead over Trump among registered voters in this poll.

Trump supporter who was shot twice during assassination attempt on former president speaks out for first time after leaving hospital

David Dutch, a 57-year-old Marine, issued a statement Wednesday night through his attorney expressing gratitude to everyone for their support since he was shot while backstage where the former president was speaking on July 13.

He had initially been placed in a medically induced coma for gunshot wounds to the chest and liver.

‘David and his wife, Sheree, and the rest of the Dutch family wish to express their sincere gratitude for the tremendous level of support they have received from their friends, their fellow Americans and all others, whether domestic or foreign, who have kept David and his family in their prayers,’ the statement said. In a statement to Fox News, he said:

The family also thanked “the brave men and women who saved his life, including but not limited to the police officers, doctors, rescue flight crew, and medical professionals at Allegheny General Hospital, as well as those who continue to care for him as he navigates the road to recovery.”

Biden, 81, predicts what Trump will do if he loses in 2024 in first interview since dropping out of race

Joe Biden has predicted that Donald Trump will reject a peaceful transfer of power if the 2024 race does not go his way.

Biden sat down with CBS’ Robert Costa for his first interview since dramatically dropping out of the presidential race on July 21.

The first clip to be released included Biden’s now-trademark mumbling.

“If Trump wins, I have no confidence at all. If Trump loses, I have no confidence at all,” the 81-year-old president replied when Costa asked him if he was confident there would be a peaceful transfer of power.

Moment Kamala Harris criticizes anti-Israel protesters as they hijack her rally, before giving them an ultimatum

The crowd went wild at Kamala Harris’s largest campaign rally yet, and the Democratic candidate lost her cool as the situation spiraled out of control.

On Wednesday night in Detroit, the raucous crowd chanted to Beyoncé and shouted to “lock up” Donald Trump as speakers spewed obscenities and expletives while speaking in support of Harris, pausing only to give instructions to medics after several people fainted from the heat.

Even vice presidential candidate Tim Walz was drawn to the atmosphere: “My God, can you throw a party here in Michigan?” he told them.

The mood became even more tense when he introduced Harris. She came out to a sustained ovation that lasted a minute, but then struggled to regain control of the rally.

There were 15,000 people streaming out of a hangar at the Detroit airport, the largest crowd so far in Harris’ presidential campaign.

And when a group of Gaza protesters started shouting at him, Harris lost his patience.

“If you want Donald Trump to win, say so. If not, I’ll do the talking,” she told them as her supporters cheered her on.
