This is the disturbing moment when a woman was doused in acid while confronting her former boss at his home in southern Brazil after he threatened to sexually assault her 11-year-old son.
Francieli Correa appeared on Monday at the 70-year-old man’s home in Catanduva, São Paulo, after alleged threats he made during a heated telephone conversation earlier in the day.
Video footage recorded by the man’s neighbor shows Correa standing on the sidewalk at the entrance to the home, confronting him with the threats.
The older man, whose name has not been released, then poured the liquid over Correa.
He then chased Correa across the street and tried to hit her when she waved back.
Francieli Correa says vision in her right eye is still blurry after her former boss threw acid at her face Monday when she showed up at his home in Brazil’s São Paulo to confront him after the couple argued over the phone and the 70-year-old threatened to ‘rape’ her 11-year-old son. Correa said she recently quit working as the man’s maid after four years of service and called him to ask if he could come by her house to pick up a bed he’d recently bought.

Correa told Brazilian news channel G1 that she had been employed by the man she considered a second father and had known for more than 10 years. She has looked after him, cleaned, cooked and looked after him for the past four years.
The relationship broke down two weeks ago when Correa was injured after tripping over a bucket full of stuff he wanted to sell.
‘He got angry. I came to my house. Then I got sick for a week and didn’t go to work,” Correa told G1. “The other Sunday I called to say I wouldn’t be working anymore.”
Correa called the man Monday to inform him to pick up a bed he had bought and be at her home.
However, the conversation escalated when the man reportedly said he would “rape” her child.
“He started insulting me and said he would rape my son and throw him in a bush,” Correa added.
Francieli Correa told Brazilian outlet G1 that her right eye is inflamed and she is having trouble seeing because her vision is blurry
Francieli Correa said she considered her 70-year-old former boss a “father” figure. She said she had known him for over 10 years and spent the last four years as the man’s maid
Correa admitted that she lost her temper and turned up at the man’s house to seek answers to the vicious threats.
“Then the old man threw hydrochloric acid on me. There was no time to argue,’ Correa said. ‘He (followed me) with a stick and a bottle with the product. I thought it was chlorine.’
Correa visited a medical facility for treatment and feared she would lose sight in her infected right eye.
“The eye’s pretty inflamed,” she said. “He (the doctor) used eye drops and (prescribed) painkillers to treat at home to see if I need surgery or what he can do. My vision is very blurry. I can not see it.’
Correa and her family have filed a police report with Catanduva’s 4th precinct. The elderly man told police investigators that he did not spill any acid over Correa’s face and was unaware of the liquid’s contents. He was not arrested.
Catanduva’s 4th precinct is awaiting a review from medical experts to determine whether the man will be charged.
