A Las Vegas student was escorted out of a high school while wearing a hood over his face and handcuffs on his legs in a shocking moment caught on camera.
The teen could be seen on surveillance video lying horizontal and surrounded by at least a dozen school district police officers at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts located at Bridge Avenue and 7th Street on Thursday.
Principal Lezlie Koepp told parents in an email that the episode was due to a discussion between students. But some of the students said the teen pushed two girls.
When officers arrived, the teen allegedly became belligerent and spit and bit them. That’s when the officer placed a spit shield on him.
It was unclear if the student faced any charges or disciplinary action, according to 8 news now.

Video obtained by the news outlet captured multiple views of the chaotic scene as many students were stunned by the events unfolding.
‘We have to go. We have to go. The guy received an electric shock. I’m not kidding,’ one of the spectators shouted.
Another responded: ‘Really?’
“There was a kid fallen on the ground,” another high school student said.
While another joked: “There was a fight.”
An officer with the Clark County School District Police Department told the news outlet that the measures used to restrain the student were for himself and to protect the students and responding officers.
After the ordeal, the principal sent a letter to students and parents informing them of the incident.

‘Today there was a verbal argument involving students on campus. “School administration and CCSD police worked to calm the situation,” the letter read in part.
‘Please know that we cannot discuss individual student matters. “However, we have addressed this matter with those involved and are following all CCSD policies regarding this situation.”
The letter ended with the school asking parents to talk to their children about the Clark County Student District Code of Student Conduct.
