This is the shocking moment when a woman stopped traffic as she got out of the car and yelled at the driver behind her in a fiery discussion about the merger.
More than 30 cars were forced to stop on a road in Canberra when the woman stopped her car to participate in the road line.
The images show the woman getting out of her car and shouting insults to the male driver behind her, saying she would stay until the police showed up.
While it is not clear in the footage what caused the altercation, the filming of the passengers claimed that the incident was triggered when the woman cut her car while trying to merge.
A fury incident caused the traffic to stop when a woman (in the picture) refused to move her vehicle after the confrontation.
"She stopped on purpose, almost tripped us, so we gave her a finger," he said.
This action is known as checking brakes, when a driver braked very hard in front of another driver who is very close, which causes them to deviate or react quickly to avoid an accident.
The video opens with cars that blow their horns to a woman, before she gets out of the car and pulls out her phone to take pictures.
When a lane ends, which is shown by a dashed line, the car in the lane must give way to any vehicle in the lane it joins.
A driver must not cross into the other lane unless it is safe to do so.
Occasionally, the lane separation line will end and both lanes of traffic are required to merge into a single lane.
When merged in such cases, the vehicle in front has the right of way over the vehicle that is dragged.
Drivers are advised to exercise caution, common sense and courtesy when merging.
