Inspired by a movie heist, a gang stole $500,000 worth of jewelry from a Florida store using a jackhammer to disable the alarms before making off with the loot.
The robbery took place on September 16 at Mint Jewelers by Boodaddy Diamonds in Hollywood, Florida, in less than five minutes.
A group of thieves broke in through the roof, used a jackhammer to disable the alarm and entered the showroom.
The store’s owner, Christopher Petrillo, told CBS Miami: ‘(At) 5:09 they walked into my store, 5:13 they were gone. Literally in four minutes they took more than half a million dollars worth of jewelry.
“It’s heartbreaking, you know? Thieves are the lowest of the low, like they’re assholes, you know?

At 5:13 a.m., one of the thieves noticed the small camera hidden in the store
“I’m still putting it all together, but it’s about half a million dollars,” he said.
‘They had a large jamming device, almost a bomb, with fifteen antennas and it was connected to my alarm system and then they cut all the wires.’
But one detail the gang overlooked was that Christopher had a secret ring camera discreetly placed in a corner of the store.
The ring camera was able to capture the entire robbery, as well as the faces and other identifying information about the robbers.
The video shows the Spanish-speaking thieves walking through the store and picking up items. Christopher said the thieves stole a rare orange Chanel bag and a huge bottle of Louis XIII liqueur, which usually costs $3,500.
He explained: ‘(At) 5:13 a.m. one of the guys noticed the little camera I had there and as the guy moved he had the flashlight in his mouth and it was flashing it at the other guy.
