Distressing video shows the moment an engineer stabbed a teenager to death while swimming in Wisconsin’s Apple River because he was called a ‘pedophile’.

The man was Nicolae Miu of Pior Lake, Minnesota, who claims his fatal stabbing was “in self-defense” after the tuber group claimed the 54-year-old was “looking for little girls.”
Two years later, the murder trial has begun and prosecutors have set out to prove that Miu was the aggressor in the situation and sentence him on one count of first-degree intentional homicide and four counts of attempted murder. The defense argues that Miu acted in self-defense.
After witness statements began Monday, the court reviewed video that captured the intense moments before and during the stabbing.

A woman approached Miu ordering her to get away from the group, while one of the boys shouted ‘looking for girls’.
The video then shows the group pushing Miu into the water repeatedly and hitting him as he struggled to get up.
Then the members of the group started shouting: ‘Did he hit a woman?’
The woman clutched her side in shock as blood began to gush and it became apparent that she had been stabbed.

Chaos ensued as the group quickly dispersed. The cameraman yelled “this isn’t real” as more blood stained the water.
The distressing images were suddenly cut off.
Nicolae Miu, 52, of Prior Lake, was arrested and charged with first-degree intentional homicide and four counts of attempted homicide after allegedly attacking a group in Apple River in Wisconsin.
The district attorney’s office said there was “enough blood in the river that the water turned red in some places.”

One witness, Ryan Nelson, 18, took the stand to recall the encounter and said his group of six had gathered to spend a day on the river.
Nelson remembered how Miu ran towards the first set of tubes, but he didn’t say why. He said he was afraid and that the group asked the 54-year-old man several times to leave.
He also claimed that his group did not know the other group that intervened, but they also asked Miu to leave.
Nelson said Miu never explained what she was doing and that she had fallen to the ground after hitting the blonde woman.
When the prosecutor asked if Miu’s arms were “flailing” when she “hit” the woman, Nelson responded no, saying “it looked like he definitely hit her with his right hand.”
After the woman was hit, her friends “tried to come rescue her” and pushed Miu down.
Nelson says it wasn’t him, but his friend, Isaac Schuman, the 18-year-old who died during the terrifying incident.
Schuman was pronounced dead at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater. The other four victims, Rhyley Mattison, 24, and three unidentified men, ages 20 to 22, were taken to a different hospital, where they remain in stable condition.
The violent altercation began after Miu, whose group was upriver, returned and found a “phone that was lost” while wearing snorkel gear, his wife, Sondra, told detectives, according to the criminal complaint.
As he watched, Sondra said, “a group of guys got off the tubes and started beating him.”
The group reportedly accused Miu of “targeting little girls” and being a “child molester” after he had been diving between two groups on either side of the river looking for the phone, according to video seen by the district attorney’s office. of St. Croix. in Wisconsin.
The 20-somethings approached Miu after seeing him chatting with a group of teenagers who seemed “uncomfortable” as he was supposedly asking “young girls'” numbers.
Isaac Schuman, 17, was found by emergency services “without vital signs” and had a “puncture wound in his upper abdomen near his left breast.”
He was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead, while the other four victims, who were not in his group, were taken to another hospital (pictured with his girlfriend Alyssa).
Speaking to DailyMail.com, Ryhley said: “I was with some friends sailing down the river, when a couple of them said we had to stop because there were a group of children who looked uncomfortable.”
‘There was an older man with them, so we stopped using the tubes. The guys went to see what was going on and then some of my friends and I went too,” she said. ‘They explained that this older man was asking these younger boys if they knew any younger women or if they could get him some women’s numbers. younger. Mattison sustained an injury to his left side, according to the complaint. He stated that the other three injured people were in his group and that they did not know the teenager.

Around 15 to 20 people were in the river in tubes at the time of the attack, on a Saturday in 2022.

Miu originally told police she got the knife from some tubers and fought in “self-defense,” but Sondra claimed the weapon was attached to her belt.
The district attorney’s office said there was “enough blood in the river that the water took on a red tint in some places.”
During an interview, Miu told him that he “escaped” from the group and that Schuman’s group “produced two weapons.”
He claimed the group taunted him after he asked them if they had seen his friend’s phone and that one of the boys tried to “pull his trunk down,” according to the complaint. Miu said she noticed that “the boy had a knife on him” and that someone else had a “longer knife” that looked like a kitchen knife.
The engineer said he “took” the knife from the boy during the altercation after twisting his arm. He claimed that “they attacked me” and that he was “in self-defense mode.”
